You have been analysing the wreckage.
This looks underneath it.

Do you ever wish someone could wave a magic wand and make everything you've been through disappear, or somehow make sense? The therapy, the endless books, podcasts, coaching, groups, challenges. The research, the questions, the hours of going back over every crazy-making experience inside the marriage or the relationship. I have. Countless times. Decades worth.

And this is what I finally realised: all of that effort to heal, while deeply necessary, is almost exclusively focused on the relationship itself.

We spend our energy analysing him — why he acted the way he did, the dynamics of what happened, how to protect ourselves from it ever happening again. We learn the language: coercive control, gaslighting, trauma-bonding. We become experts in the wreckage. That work is valid and crucial for survival, but it stops at the surface. It doesn't reach the architecture beneath it — the core beliefs you were carrying long before you met him.

Those silent, hidden drivers didn't begin with him. He found them, amplified them, and used them as tools to take you apart.

The belief that you have to earn your place. That your needs are too much. That you are responsible for everything. When you left the relationship, you carried those beliefs out with you, and they are still running the show. My goal is to stop analysing the past and start dismantling those specific beliefs, so you can stop just surviving and start living.

What you actually lived through

It was not a difficult relationship.
It was a system.

When you live through this level of systematic abuse, you quickly discover that surviving it was a profound act. The fundamental difference between a frustrating relationship — conflict between two equals — and the one you lived is a matter of power, safety and intent. You were caught in a systemic trap designed to strip you of your autonomy.

It was dangerous in the quiet, methodical way these dynamics operate. The rules shifted without warning, leaving you constantly off-balance. What happened one day was denied the next, eroding trust in your own memory. Kindness was granted on his terms, not yours, forcing you to keep earning back a version of him that only appeared at random. This wasn't just a bad relationship. It was a system built to dismantle you.

But here is the part almost no one has addressed with you. Everything you have done so far has been about the relationship — understanding it, processing it, naming his actions. That work matters, and it stops at the surface. It doesn't go underneath, to the core beliefs you were carrying long before you met him. That is what this assessment looks at: the beliefs still shaping how you see yourself and how you live, now that he is gone.

The part nobody tells you

This is not another item
on your recovery list.

You have done everything right. You got out, you understood it, you named it, you rebuilt the practical parts of your life. And you are still tired. You still apologize for things that are not yours. You still cannot decide what you want for dinner without checking whether it is fine.

The conclusion most women draw at that point is that something is wrong with them, or that healing simply takes longer than they were told. Neither one is what is happening.

What is happening is that the work has been about the relationship and never about the architecture underneath you. The relationship ended. The architecture did not.

This is the difference between recovering and reconstructing. Recovery attends to what happened to you. Reconstruction builds the person and the life that come next.

This assessment exists to break that cycle. It is the diagnostic that finally makes these invisible drivers visible. It isn't measuring your pain — you already know that is there. It is measuring the survival patterns that are still running the show.

Where this one starts

The Foundation of You

Rest, Safety & Capacity

The HealMap™ is built in two levels, and the arrangement is deliberate. Underneath everything sits The Foundation of You — rest, safety, and capacity. This measures how much of your energy is currently consumed by the effort of staying alert, and how much is left for the work of living. Above it stand six pillars.

In that relationship, the night was an active period. Arguments started at eleven and ran until two. He came in late and woke you to finish something. Your phone was read while you were unconscious, and you knew it because things had been moved. Some nights nothing at all happened, and you lay there anyway, because the previous Thursday had taught you what a quiet evening could turn into.

There was also the matter of what happened when you relaxed. A good weekend, warm and easy, the man you married — and then the temperature dropped four days later and you paid for having exhaled. That sequence is what trauma bonding is assembled from, and it teaches one lesson very efficiently.

Your system drew a correct conclusion from an environment that was actually behaving that way. Alertness kept you ahead of it. Rest was what you took when you could afford the exposure.

The Foundation gates the pillars. A nervous system running at full alert has very little bandwidth left for installing new beliefs or holding new limits.

That is why the sequencing always checks the Foundation score first, and it is why this free assessment measures it in full. Eight statements, your real score, your band, and the complete reading that belongs to it. Nothing held back.

How to answer

The last thirty days.
Not who you are becoming.

Think about your real life over the last thirty days — what is true for you now, not who you were before. For each statement, choose how often it shows up. There are no right answers, and a high score does not mean you are broken. A lower score means that area has more steadiness. A higher score means the survival patterns are still running hard there.

  • 1 Rarely or never
  • 2 Occasionally
  • 3 More often than not
  • 4 Most of the time
  • 5 Almost always

Understand your result

This is not measuring your pain.

What this number shows you is a direct measure of how you are operating day to day, right now. It is not a measurement of your pain, your history, or your progress in healing. It is measuring something far harder to see on your own: the core beliefs still driving your daily life.

And they are driving it. Beliefs you cannot see do not stay quiet. They dictate how you read people, what you tolerate, what you feel permitted to ask for, and what you believe you deserve. It isn't bad luck, and it isn't a flaw in you. It is a survival belief doing exactly what it was trained to do, entirely out of sight.

If these beliefs are in the driver's seat, you can be the one to take the wheel the moment you become aware of them.
